RHINO BASICS 3 & INCREASE 3D PRINTING SPEED

Rhino basics 3

Rhino can serve as a straightforward tool or as a sophisticated 3D production tool, depending on the complexity of your project. Its capabilities shine especially in handling intricate tasks, leveraging its prowess in transforming or modifying drawings and objects.

Using Boolean difference to create level 1 doors
Take note :
- 2d transform tool ; extend, group, trim
- 3d transform tool ; Boolean difference, move edge, offset

INCREASE 3D PRINTING SPEED

"The printing speed will affect the quality of the 3D printed object, so always make sure to strike the right balance, so as to
achieve the strength, quality, and look for the 3D project."
Layer height VS Time

Settings of layer height 0.2mm with 20% infill density and infill grid pattern (CURA)

In conclusion, Cura's model print time is faster for both 0.2mm and 0.28mm layer height.
Infill density | Infill pattern VS Time
image.png

Settings of layer height 0.28mm with 5% infill density and infill line pattern (CURA)

In conclusion, Cura's model print time is faster. It can be shown by trying out different infill patterns.
Adaptive Layer Height

Settings of layer height 0.2mm with 20% infill density and with adaptive layer (CURA)

In conclusion, when increase in layer height, the shorter the print time.
Attempt on printing

Base printed

Used the 7 minutes print time file to print.
In conclusion, print time may be short but does not mean it will print well / print successfully.
Vase mode / Split model

Settings of layer height 0.2mm with 20% infill density with spiral outer contour (CURA)

In conclusion, using spiral outer contour will decrease the printing time as the printer only prints the exterior shell of the model. Splitting model in different orientation can sometimes decrease print time as it does not require support structures.
